Chantale brings a distinctive perspective to her work as a Business Lawyer at Mason Bennett Johncox. Her career spans both public service and private practice, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the legal landscape.
In her many years with the Competition Bureau of Canada, Chantale worked to promote corporate compliance and fair competition. She reviewed proposed mergers and acquisitions and investigated matters of collusion and deceptive marketing practices. Chantale worked closely with domestic and international partners to foster collaboration and convergence. Most recently, Chantale held the position of Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Cartels and Deceptive Marketing Practices Branch (Ontario Region).
In private practice, Chantale has advised clients across a range of sectors, representing them in corporate and commercial matters, civil litigation, and estate planning. Her extensive experience allows her to offer comprehensive legal advice, guiding start-ups and established enterprises alike through regulatory compliance, corporate structuring, commercial relationships, acquisitions, and sales.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 2002, Chantale holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa (2000) and a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (Criminology and Political Science) (1997).
Deeply committed to the investment of herself in the community, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Durham Children’s Aid Society and volunteered with her church and her sons' hockey teams.
Originally from Sudbury, Chantale is a native French speaker and now resides in Brooklin with her husband and three sons. She looks forward to partnering with you to help address your business’s legal needs.
