Celebrating his 30th year as a corporate and commercial lawyer, Robin provides clients with advice and service at all stages of the life cycle of a business including start-up, maintenance, expansion, reorganization and, ultimately, family succession, wind-up or sale. Along the way, he's the go-to person for business owners and senior officers as they navigate the complexities of the Canadian legal landscape.
In Robin’s many years of experience, he has gained a thorough understanding of the varied realities of operating a business. He works closely with his clients to understand their needs and tailors and tempers his legal advice accordingly. In addition to being a lawyer, he is a Registered Canadian Trademark Agent.
While helping clients address unexpected legal issues, Robin and his staff also provide the typical services of a mature business law practice: incorporations; corporate changes, including articles of amendment, amalgamation and dissolution; business purchases and sales; commercial leases and other agreements, filing Canadian trademarks; and corporate maintenance, including minute book updates, Annual Resolutions and Annual Returns.
Robin received his undergraduate degree from Trent University in 1983 and, after working for a major Canadian bank, obtained his law degree from Queen’s University in 1991. He articled with and was an associate lawyer at Oslers in Toronto before moving to Durham Region in 1994 to found, with Patrick Bennett, what is now Mason Bennett Johncox.
He has lived in Brooklin since 1994 with his wife and their three children. The newest member of the family is a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Poppy.
